Artist Statement:
Hell Trapped Mind is an abstract exploration of what it feels like to be consumed by your own thoughts — when the very space that once offered safety becomes a place of torment.
Throughout my life, I’ve often lived more internally than externally. People like me — those who are quiet, observant, or who choose solitude over noise — have been called things like weird, angry, antisocial, or introverted. Thankfully, in recent years, there’s been a growing recognition of the strength, creativity, and insight that can come from processing the world differently. That shift in understanding is a step forward — toward empathy, inclusion, and acceptance.
But even so, internal comfort can become a trap. There are times when being inside your own mind feels less like a refuge and more like a cage. Hell Trapped Mind is an ode to that turning point — when thought becomes too loud, when introspection turns to self-inflicted chaos, and escape feels impossible.
Created with palette knife and foam brush over multiple layered applications of paint, this piece is meant to evoke a sense of enclosure, psychological pressure, and emotional suffocation. The visual language suggests the feeling of being surrounded by fire, where every path out is blocked, every breath feels heavy, and clarity is just out of reach.
Hell Trapped Mind is not just about mental struggle — it’s about recognizing that even the most introspective minds can burn from within.
