Artist Statement:

It Never Stops is an abstract representation of the relentless nature of self-doubt — how it quietly seeps into every corner of life and identity until it becomes a part of your inner dialogue. For much of my life, doubt has been a constant. In childhood, I struggled to identify with others, to name any talents, or to find belonging. My grades were low, my athleticism unremarkable, and my social life was often limited to brief moments of connection.

As I entered adulthood, my first serious relationship — if it could be called that — reinforced those internal messages: that I wasn’t enough, that I always had to do more, and that worth was something I had to earn but never fully possessed. Professionally, my contributions were often overlooked, and what abilities I had were rarely recognized. Over time, you learn to live with that sense of being “almost” — almost good enough, almost seen, almost there.

It Never Stops is a visual expression of that emotional fatigue. The painting was created using flat and foam brush techniques, with a minimalistic suggestion of a face — a face that doesn’t express happiness, sadness, anger, or joy. It just exists. It’s emotionless not from lack of feeling, but from having carried too many feelings for too long. It represents a kind of resignation — not defeat, but a quiet acceptance of the ever-present background noise of self-doubt.

This piece is a reminder of the weight many people carry without ever naming it. Doubt often becomes the closing statement to every hopeful beginning. For me, the challenge now is not just silencing that doubt, but learning to stop competing with myself — and finally choosing to believe that I am enough, as I am.
