Title: Glitched
Original Size: 20 x 16 in
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Stretched Canvas
Artist Statement:
Glitched is an abstract painting born from experimentation — created not with traditional brushes, but by using glass cleaner as a tool to manipulate the paint. This unconventional approach allowed for a unique layering and spreading of color, resulting in a visual language that mimics digital distortion: like a glitched screen or a scrambled video feed.
The piece reflects more than just a visual aesthetic — it mirrors the unpredictability and interruptions we experience in life. We all encounter “glitches”: moments of confusion, setbacks, emotional static. These interruptions can feel jarring, out of place, and difficult to decode. But sometimes, they force us to pause and reassess who we are and what we’re doing.
Glitched invites the viewer to embrace those disruptions — to see beauty and meaning in the misalignment. Through movement, color placement, and layered texture, the painting is both chaotic and intentional, symbolizing the resilience it takes to keep moving when life doesn’t follow a clear signal.
